Six months ago my family and I adopted a 5 month old Golden Retriever that we named Kona. I joked that it was as close to Kona as I would ever get. I had a new training partner and one that up until my recent surgery on my knee was always there for me, rain or shine.

Friday (September 28th) while she was playing she got loose, was hit by a car and killed, instantly.

There are no words to describe the empty feeling or the pain we all feel.

In memory of Kona, we dedicate this page that has nothing to do with triathlons at all.  This page features Golden Retriever rescue shelters all around the country.  There are many great dogs out there in need of a home, a hug and family.
